Geert Verhoeven

Geert Verhoeven graduated as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine in 1993 at Ghent University, Belgium. After a few years of research he went into private practice and was a part-time laboratory veterinarian. His surgical interests focused mainly on orthopedics. In 2003 he started a surgical residency and passed the board as Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2008. In 2011 he received the title of Doctor in Veterinary Sciences (PhD) at Ghent University on the subject of diagnosis in canine hip dysplasia. In 2013 he became visiting professor at the Department of Orthopedics and Medical Imaging at Ghent University and is active as surgeon in the Algemene Dierenkliniek Randstad. Professor Verhoeven is author and co-author of many scientific publications, supervisor of residents and doctoral students and is an invited speaker on national and international symposia.
